INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY AND PROJECT UPDATES

International Women's Day was on March 8th this year and Saidiana had a day of conversation and celebration in the Congo. The theme in Africa this year was "For all women and girls; right, equality, empowerment."

We have also already funded two new projects in 2025! Read on for details. Both of these projects support families in the community and provide much-needed services.

The flour milling project aims to set up a maize flour production unit to serve the Hewa-Bora community. The funds for this project will go towards initial expenses for a milling machine motor and a cylinder grinder. The project will employ several women, who will run cash collection and sales.

TAKEAWAY RESTAURANT

The takeaway restaurant project will not only support families, but will be a healthy and clean service for the community. These women already have a mini oven in which they make bread and beignets, and they are now looking to expand their capacity and product offering. Some of the materials include a freezer, fryer, generator, cookware, and to-go utensils.

Their goal is to open a large restaurant in the future!
