HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM SAIDIANA!
This holiday season, we at Saidiana are thankful for graduations. Graduations mean better lives for our graduates. The women who graduate from our two sewing trade schools are typically earning $50 per month using their new sewing skills. The teen mothers who graduate from our hair salon trade school have hope for a better future and life off the streets with their babies.
We are also thankful for our employees in Lubumbashi, Bea, and Nancy. We couldn’t help women in the Congo without their dedication to our cause. They work in the worst of conditions – ones that are unimaginable to most of us here in the US – and yet they persevere. We see restaurants, an art studio, a tailor shop, a chicken rearing operation, a vegetable growing operation, and so much more – all dreams that have come to fruition through their hard work with our clients.
And we are thankful for you, our supporters. Your donations have helped create and expand women-run businesses, enabling mothers in the Congo to take better care of their families.
“Aksanti” is the Swahili word for “thank you.” This video is a touching reminder of why we do what we do. These are our
clients, and we share their thankfulness with you. We wish you and yours a wonderful holiday season and ask you to consider us in your year-end giving.
